​Queensland University – CSRM (Corporate Social Responsibility in Mining)​​

The Centre for Social Responsibility in Mining (CSRM) is a part of the Sustainable Minerals Institute (SMI) at the University of Queensland. At CSRM, their focus is on the social, economic and political challenges that are related to mining industry development.

​

They work with companies, communities and governments in mining regions all over the world to improve social performance and deliver better outcomes for companies and communities. SMI has a long track record of working to understand and apply the principles of sustainable development within the global resources industry.

​

CECT has collaborated with CSRM based on letter of intent. The collaboration has included several activities, such as; organizing curriculum, creating an executive education for the extractive industry sector, establishing a series of regular workshops, and collaborative research.

The University of Northampton

​

The University of Northampton is a key university located in England. In 2012, Northampton University is claimed to be "England's No. 1 University for Employability" and their goal before year 2015 is to become the most famous university in England specializing in Social Enterprise.

​

CECT has collaborated with the University of Northampton based on a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The collaboration has included students and staff exchange, and joint research. This collaboration is one of the key mechanisms CECT is using to develop more social entrepreneurs in Indonesia. CECT has now created its own unique program for social entrepreneurs - "MM-CE Program" (Magister Management Community Entrepreneurship).

The University of Texas at Austin

​

University of Texas at Austin is one of the old and most well known universities in the United States. CECT has collaborated with the University of Texas, based on a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). As part of that collaboration CECT was involved in a joint "iLearn@america Program: Innovation Readiness Series" with the main topic being: entrepreneurship. The program was delivered a joint partnership with the University of Texas and the Ambassador of the United States for Indonesia. The program was delivered over eight weeks, with one session per week. The program focused on showing young people how to prepare to become an entrepreneur.

The program was held in 2012. There were over 150 students from many universities in Jakarta that participated. They were taught about many entrepreneurship subjects, that included the benefits of innovation, how to develop ideas, how to conduct market validation, and most importantly Indonesian case studies that supported each subject area. The capstone subject was a competition where potential entrepreneurs could pitch their ideas, before a panel of jurors, with the hope of receiving a significant financial incentive.

Faculty of Political and Social Science at University of Indonesia

​

The Social and Politics Science Faculty of the University of Indonesia (FISIP UI) is one of the most favored universities by high school graduates in Indonesia. Currently there are about 6.500 students learning at FISIP UI.

​

CECT is collaborating with FISIP UI in the area of Social Impact Assessment (SIA). CECT provides lecturers and experts in this field to FISIP UI. SIA covers social, economic, and culture changes that are impacted by new projects such as the development of a new mining asset. The results of the SIA(s) are fed into the organization’s CSR program.

​

In another example of the close co-operation, the two organizations jointly created the "Global CSR Trip 2014". In this event, many students form Kyung Hee University of South Korea visited FISIP UI. CECT contributed part of the curriculum that focused on CSR in the Indonesian context.

Interlink Technology Group, Australia

​

The Interlink Technology Group have their main office in Queensland, Australia. The group consists of an Australian Government approved Registered Training Organization and a Consultancy Company. In Indonesia it has established a private limited company to deliver similar products and services within the Indonesian context. The major focus areas are Project Management, Risk Management and Consultancy.

​

CECT has been collaborating with the Interlink Group in conducting workshops and executive education programs. The programs introduced included risk management and project management as enablers for planning, implementing, closing and measuring CSR programs. Collaboration between the two organizations has resulted in the development and publishing of the Radyati-Simmonds life cycle model for CSR programs and projects.

British Council Indonesia

​

British Council Indonesia has a long history of involvement in Indonesia. One of the programs that has been a focus for the British Council is Skill for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE). It is a program that was created to support the growth of social enterprise. Launched in 2009, SSE is running in China, Croatia, Georgia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Filipina, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, Vietnam, and Indonesia.

In Indonesia, one of the programs that supports social entrepreneurs is the Community Entrepreneurs Challenge (CEC), a community based entrepreneur competition. This competition is conducted jointly by the British Council and Arthur Guinness Fund since 2010. CECT has a role in identifying and selecting social entrepreneurs from many regions in Indonesia that have the potential for success. That process also involved site visits to evaluate each enterprise and report on its potential. The report also provides valuable data for the improvement of social enterprises in Indonesia.

British Chamber of Commerce, Jakarta

​

The British Chamber of Commerce, Indonesia (BritCham) is a non-government organization that represents English business interests in Indonesia. This organization is also of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry known as KADIN.

​

British Chamber has co-operated with CECT by translating a book titled "Indonesia Social Responsibility Review (ISSR)" from its original Indonesian language to English thus providing to British Businesses and the wider expatriate community a better understanding of Leadership in Organisational Social Responsibility in the Indonesian context.

Kiroyan Partners

​

Kiroyan Partners is a consultant company that specializes at improving the reputation of a company and also helping the company to be more harmonized with their stakeholders. Was built at 2006, Kiroyan Partners has done an approach in multi discipline that are comprehensive towards many kinds of complex problems that most company must dealing with nowadays. It has a commitment to support continuous development, company governance, and CSR.

​

One of the co-operation between MM-Sustainability Program and Kiroyan Partners is an internship program. The students of MM-Sustainability have a chance to join an internship program for 3 months in the Kiroyan Partners. During internship process, students will experience the real working environment.

​

MM-Sustainability and Kiroyan Partners also cooperate in the education process of some courses. Some of them are, CSR courses, and also Sustainable Development courses.

Yascita

​

Yascita (Yayasan Cinta Alam), is a nonprofit organization that specializes at environment and natural resource management at Sulawesi Tenggara.

​

Yascita Missions:

​

• Develop a centre of natural resources in Sulawesi

• Develop a natural resources trading system, which is fair and sustainable, with the community as the main actors

• Facilitate the community, so they could have the right to participate in decision making

• Develop an independent press or a community press in Sulawesi

 

They have also established “Radio Suara Alam”, a radio station that located in Kendari in 1999. Yascita also established Kendari TV in 2003. Kendari TV is a television station that influences others to broadcast about community. Kendari TV has abled to be an initiator and inspiration for many television stations community at other areas, such as; Bengkulu (Sumatra), Pontianak (Kalimantan), Palu (Sulawesi Tengah), Buton (Sulawesi Tenggara) and Papua.

​

Yascita has also developed a teak forest management in South Konawe Regency, Sulawesi Tenggara. This teak forest management was based on community. Unfortunately, it is being duplicated in other areas, like the one in Kulan Progo Regency (Yogyakarta), Lampung, Aceh, and Papua.

​

Cooperation between CECT/ MM-Sustainability Trisakti University and Yascita is a training that aims to improve human resources. The main objective the collaboration is to develop management and leadership skills for the founders. Other than that, CECT/ MM-Sustainability are also collaborating with Yascita in the process of Social Mapping in many areas, which includes West Java and East Halmahera.
